Dahab.

Superb holiday with the Brog windsurfing club, Denise & I had a great time.
The best overall conditions I’ve had there. 7 days of wind in 7 is not to be complained about. I sailed a range of JP FSW boards from 84 up to 101, with sails from 6.2 down to 5.4. One afternoon I took the Slalom 94 with a 6.7 sail.

I spent most of my time out in the Kamikazee with about 10 other people on and off. The swell is about 1m with up to 2m wave faces. I got the hang of gybing on the waves like I’ve not done before. The wave angle was not ideal for jumps. I still tried spin looping a few times – getting a few half attempts.

The hotel Dahabeya was good with an all inclusive package, beers whenever you like… Saturday night we were invited to Elke and Harry Nass’ house for a BBQ. Their home, right on the shore just North of Masbat is a ‘palace’, with views over the gulf. Colin won his kit hire for next year when he became the first to dive in the pool with his trousers on.
